NFPA 2, Hydrogen Technologies Code

Plan Review & Inspection

 

The National Fire Protection Association, California Office of the State Fire Marshal and California Fire Prevention Officers are sponsoring training on the newly adopted NFPA 2, Hydrogen Technologies Code, which takes effect January, 2017. This is an overview of NFPA 2 focused on plan review and inspection of hydrogen refueling facilities and operations.

 

This complimentary training is made available to Authorities Having Jurisdictions representing state and local government. Registration is required, but there is no cost to attend. Limited space: Registrations are first come, first serve. Those that attend will receive a complimentary copy of the 2016 edition of NFPA 2.

 

Four repeat classes are offered from 8am-4pm. Only one class per person.

2017 Title 24, 2016 Building Efficiency Standards -- FREE training (Wed. 15 Feb, 2017 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm)

Title 24, 2016 Building Efficiency Standards Are Now Mandatory!

Builders are required to meet much more stringent code regulations - this FREE training will help you with the challenges of the newly adopted standards and how to use the CalCERTS Registry.  The presentation will cover Title 24 Residential Energy Codes and the process of demonstrating compliance from building design through permit closure. This training is intended for all stakeholders and will be followed by an open forum to allow participant's questions on specific issues of interest.  Network with industry experts, builders, energy consultants, installers, HERS raters and local building officials to discuss requirements of the 2016 Standards, best practices and common pitfalls.

Space is limited - please register early. Future sessions will be scheduled based on demand.

Michel Fourcroy of CalCERTS will present on the process of demonstrating compliance with Title 24 - Building Energy Efficiency Standards. The discussion will track a typical new construction workflow including energy modeling, plan-check, construction, inspections and permit closure. Emphasis will be placed on those steps required in the CalCERTS registry to generate the required compliance documentation. Alteration projects will be considered by extension, expanding on topics as relevant to the audience. Topics will include user registration, roles and responsibilities, creating and maintaining projects, required compliance forms, closing projects and common pitfalls. We will also discuss Signature Authority, the Project Status Report and other strategies to insure success.
