For those eager to improve their skills in electrical grounding and bonding\, the 2011 Soares Seminar on Grounding and Bonding is the sem inar to attend. How and why certain grounding methods are used will be ex plained in a logical way. The accompanying text\, Soares Book on Groundin g and Bonding\, is included in the cost of registration. The book balance s text with photos and illustrations and cuts through the confusion of ind ustry jargon and common misconceptions\, guiding the reader step-by-step t hrough the language and intent of the 2011 National Electrical Code.
\nIns tructors: Marv Millett is the retired Chie f Electrical Inspector for the City of Oakland\, where he worked for 25 ye ars. He was also an Electrical Plans Examiner and is a Journeyman Electri cian. He held the positions of IAEI Northern California Chapter\, IAEI So uthwestern Section President\, and is currently the IAEI Northern Californ ia Chapter Representative to the Southwestern Section.
\nMike Stone is the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) West Coast Field Representative since Aug ust 2012. He is the alternate member representing NEMA on Code Making Pan el 1 for the 2017 National Electrical Code. He also serves as Vice Chair of the California Plumbing\, Electrical\, Mechanical and Energy Code Advis ory Committee for the CA Building Standards Commission. Prior to his tenu re with NEMA\, he worked for over 25 years in California building departme nts at the County of Monterey and the Cities of Monterey\, Salinas and\, m ost recently\, as Building Official for the City of Watsonville.
