Synopsis: After all the recent code changes\, this class is intended to help put the Residential C ode in to perspective by exploring the major provisions of the 2016 Califo rnia Residential Code. The presentation includes detailed discussions of the provisions addressing the following issues: building planning\; found ation\, floor\, wall and roof construction\; exterior wall finishes\; and roofing systems.

Synopsis: With passage of legalized marijuana in California\, inquiries for new and modifications to existing structures fo r such facilities have already begun. This fast-paced seminar has been cre ated to discuss facilities: use\, egress\, electrical concerns\, hazards ( MAQ’s)\, mechanical (exhaust and ventilation)\, occupancies\, plumbing iss ues\, sprinklers and waste disposal. Further discussion will address the p otential impact of such legislation on the built environment\, based on si tuations that have been encountered in other states that have previously p assed similar legislation and what effects California’s law might have on local jurisdictions.
